Habits are such an important part of who we are and what we can become. For long-term development of healthy habits, we need to be intentional and know why we are doing things, and make healthy choices over and over. In this section of my website you will find information on healthy habits – what they are, how to integrate the habits into your life, what the benefits of various healthy habits can be for you, resources for healthy habits, and so on.
In all of life there are really only two kinds of habits that are really important to know about – good ones and bad ones! Healthy habits are behavior sets that trend in the direction of restoring, maintaining, or improving your health. Unhealthy habits do just the opposite. When I refer to “healthy habits” it includes much more than those behaviors that can result in improved physical health – it includes emotional, mental, and spiritual health as well.
As a registered nurse with a Master’s in Public Health, education in how to better our health is a real passion of mine. I have been involved in public health education for over 40 years and the greatest reward has been seeing people make their own choices to grow in various ways and how that growth has been a blessing in their lives, their jobs, and their communities. After all, what good is it to improve the quantity of our lives if we do not also improve the quality of our lives? That is the goal of this website.
I welcome your comments and feedback and look forward to building an online community that finds these values important as well, where we can share and learn from one another.
